Information on returning waste electrical equipment and used batteries

You can return waste electrical equipment and used batteries to us free of charge. 

Return options:

• Return waste electrical or used batteries by post or parcel service (provided they are not industrial batteries).
• In-person return at our premises.
• Alternatively, used batteries can also be handed in at local collection points. Please note, however, that not all local collection points accept industrial batteries.

Note on the return of industrial batteries:
For safety and hazardous goods reasons, industrial batteries must not be returned via standard parcel post. We will prganise the return or collection for you. Please contact us before dispatch. Alternataively, industrial batteries can be returned in person on site. 

Safe handling of used batteries:

• Store used batteries in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, away from flammable materials. 
• Keep undamaged batteries separate from damaged or leaking batteries. 
• Store lithium-containing batteries in fireproof containers (e.g. metal trays, sand beds, special boxes). 
• Tape the terminals of used batteries to prevent short circuits. 
• Do not stack damaged batteries or store them under pressure. 
• Handle leaking or deormed batteries with care and wear protective gloves. 
• Send waste electrical equipment and used batteries with the terminals taped over and securely packaged. Do not send damaged or swollen batteries or industrial batteries by post.
